Quoted by Inside Futbol, Rangers legend Hugh Burns says that youngster Tom Walsh has a "big chance" to impress manager Mark Warburton next season.
Rangers are set for a Scottish Premiership return following a four-year exile, with the Gers winning the Scottish Championship at a canter this past season to seal their comeback.
The 19-year-old midfielder will get a chance to impress the Rangers boss in pre-season, having spent the second half of the 2015-16 campaign on loan at Dumbarton.
Competition for places will be fierce next term - especially in midfield following the arrivals of Joey Barton and Jordan Rossiter, while Josh Windass will also arrive at the Ibrox club after signing a pre-contract agreement in January.
But ex Rangers defender Burns says there's just something about Walsh, whom he backs to make the most of his opportunity throughout the summer months.
"For me Tom Walsh has got a big chance. He's been a wee bit unfortunate and went through a bad spell with injury", he said on Rangers TV, quoted by Inside Futbol.
"But I like Tom Walsh. He's got two feet, he can go to tbe byline and turn it back – and he can whip it in with his left as well, so I think he's got something about him."
Rangers should definitely be able to mount something a Premiership challenge next term, although the 3-2 Scottish Cup final defeat by Hibernian last week will have taken them back to earth.
