Orange is the New Black star speaks about prison kingpin and changing identities in season four

Orange Is The New Black

Orange is the New Black returns for its latest run next month.

Orange is the New Black star Taylor Schilling has been speaking ahead of season four, with her comments later published in The Hollywood Reporter.

Schilling, who plays Piper on the show, was speaking during a Paley Centre panel as she looked ahead to the upcoming season, which airs on Netflix from June 17.

The last time was saw the inmates at Litchfield Penitentiary they were enjoying some much needed relaxation in a nearby stream after an impromptu breakout of sorts, while back at the prison there were a lot of new arrivals sure to shake things up in the episodes ahead.

Just prior to that Piper had shown her hand as the new potential kingpin when she sent Stella to maximum security for stealing, and Schilling has hinted that big things are afoot for the previously fragile blonde.

“She's becoming a little bit of a kingpin and has this swagger," Schilling said. "With what we just shot, man, (Piper) just keeps trying on different clothes. They don’t all fit.”

It is fair to say the third season of Orange is the New Black did not have the same urgency and excitement as the first two runs, but the trailer for season four suggests we could be in for a treat when the show returns next month.
