Robert Lewandowski has evolved into one of the most prolific strikers on the continent.
Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski
The Independent are reporting via German news outlet Spiegel that Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has already held talks with Spanish giants Real Madrid, as confirmed by the Poland ace's agent.
The newspaper reports that Cezary Kucharski, his agent, claims that talks have been held with the Champions League finalists:
“Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said. It’s a big and exciting club. We have informed FC Bayern that we’ve held talks with Madrid.”

The Poland international was in prolific form for Bayern in the 2015/16 season, scoring 30 goals in the Bundesliga, helping his side defend their title. The newspaper also report how he spoke about a contract in modern football not guaranteeing a player's future:
"Contracts are not a holy relic in football. You can like this attitude or not but it's the truth. Sometimes you have to think about if it is meaningful to try out a new impulse."

The Bayern striker's contract does not expire until 2019, so any move for the 27-year-old would command a huge transfer fee.
He is the kind of player who would be close to impossible to replace, and if a move did come to fruition, there would likely be an ensuing domino effect, with many of the world's top strikers on Bayern's list of transfer targets.
Much will depend on new Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti's desire to keep Lewandowski, and the Pole's future will certainly become a lot clearer after the European Championships.
