They have already made one big move, securing a deal for Switzerland star Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.

And it appears he may not be the only Swiss international arriving at the Emirates, with a move for defender Ricardo Rodriguez also being touted.

According to Kicker, the Gunners are interested in a move for the full back after academy chief Andries Jonker offered a glowing recommendation.

He worked with the player when he was assistant manager at Wolfsburg before moving to the Emirates and has endorsed him to Arsene Wenger.

At just 23-years-old he could be a long-term replacement for current first choice left back Nacho Monreal, who turned 30 this year.

Any move would be an expensive one for the Gunners though, with the same report claiming Rodriguez has a €25million, around £19million, release clause in his current deal.
