Middlesbrough have recently pulled off an impressive signing ahead of their Premier League campaign.

Dazzling Ajax attacker Viktor Fischer was once dubbed ‘the Danish Messi’ and if he stays fit could be a brilliant coup ahead of top-flight football.

Fischer had been linked with many of Europe’s top sides in the past – which made Middlesbrough’s deal all the more impressive.

Now they are being linked with a similar proposition.

L’Equipe report today that Middlesbrough are looking into the signature of Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.

The report claims his representatives have been touting their client for a transfer away from the club and so far only Middlesbrough have expressed an interest.

In the past Grenier has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool but the 25-year-old has battled with poor form and injury for the past two years. That level interest is now gone but it seems Boro are keen on snapping up the five time French international.

If he stays fit and finds his mojo Grenier would be an incredible addition to the Teeside club. It will be interesting to see how this report develops.
