The Celtic playmaker put in an impressive display in Sunderland.
England's Chris Smalling in action with Australia's Tomas Rogic
England picked up a 2-1 win against Australia last night at the Stadium of Light thanks to a debut goal from Marcus Rashford and a strike from captain Wayne Rooney.
But the home side did not have it all their own way.
Australia impressed throughout the game – especially British based players.
Liverpool left-back Brad Smith was a constant threat down the wing whilst Preston North End defender Bailey Wright lived up to his 2015-16 Championship form.
Celtic's Tom Rogic celebrates with Mikael Lustig and Leigh Griffiths after scoring their first goal
But it was Celtic’s Tom Rogic that stood out.
The Celtic playmaker put in a sublime performance off the frontmen, finding pockets of space around the pitch and leaving Jack Wilshere chasing shadows throughout the first-half.
Unfortunately, he did not have his shooting boots on, because he could have notched in the game to seal off a brilliant performance.
Rogic still struggles to complete a full 90 minutes, something Celtic fans will vouch for, and came off in the second-half of this game.
But if he could get his fitness up to scratch over the summer he could be a real driving force for Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.
Here is how fans reacted to his performance…
Think Tom Rogic could have a big future at Celtic under Rodgers.— Dead Parrot (@bartonshairline) May 27, 2016
Tom Rogic must be kept at Celtic all cost. The guy is a class act.— John Paul Kennah (@jpkennahyeeha) May 27, 2016
Wont be long until Rogic is playing in the EPL as much as I dont want him to leave my beloved Celtic. Mooy will join him as well #ENGvAUS— Brendan Loftus (@loftus_brendan) May 27, 2016
Thinking Rogic is showing Brendan what he is all about tonight. We need to tie him down ! #Celtic— J-Bhoy (@FooFighterJ) May 27, 2016
Celtic should build this new team around big Tam Rogic, class player!— Danny Myles (@danielmyles88) May 27, 2016
I pray Brendan Rogers doesn't ruin Rogic at Celtic— Julian M. Davis (@JasperThe2nd) May 27, 2016
Rogic is no athlete, but his feet and touch more than make up for that. IMO Celtic line up should be built around him.— Greg Tait (@gtsmiler) May 27, 2016
