West Ham's Dimitri Payet celebrates
West Ham United star Dimitri Payet has told Four Four Two that he is 'very likely' to still be with the club next season, having had no contact from any other clubs.
Payet, 29, was West Ham's marquee signing last summer, arriving in a big-money deal from Marseille having racked up 16 assists for the French club last season.
The playmaker didn't take long to make an impact in the Premier League either, and having conjured up some outstanding performances and magical moments, Payet ended the season with 12 goals and 12 assists.
Widely considered as one of the signings of the season, Payet has become one of the biggest names in the Premier League, and he was duly rewarded with a new contract by West Ham in February, worth an alleged £125,000-a-week according to the Daily Mail.
However, Calcio Mercato reported earlier this month that Real Madrid were looking to land Payet this summer, and with a chance to impress at Euro 2016 this summer, he could be a major target for some of the world's top clubs.
Now though, with Payet preparing for Euro 2016, he has been quoted by Four Four Two as saying that he has had no contact from any other club, despite being continually linked with moves even after signing his contract extension.
Payet also confidently claimed that he is 'very likely' to stay at West Ham next season, as the Hammers make their big move from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium.
"Journalists have placed me everywhere!" said Payet. "But I currently have no contact [with other clubs] and I signed a very long contract with West Ham. It is very likely that I'll still be here next season," he added.
Do you think Payet will replicate his success next season?
