Harry Redknapp is backing a possible Celtic move for Steven Gerrard.
Liverpool's Steven Gerrard celebrates with ex-Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers
Rodgers, 43, became Celtic manager last Friday, penning a rolling one-year contract with the club he has supported since his childhood.
Celtic - Brendan Rodgers Press Conference
The Northern Irishman is looking to somewhat rebuild his reputation having been sacked by Liverpool back in October, yet Celtic fans are incredibly excited as it's just two years since Rodgers took Liverpool to within a whisker of winning the Premier League title.
Rodgers will have some time to assess his squad ahead of the summer transfer window, but he's already being linked with a stunning move for one of his former Liverpool players.
Ex-England captain and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was a huge part of Rodgers' side at Anfield, and The Scottish Sun report that Rodgers is keen to lure the midfielder from LA Galaxy to Celtic this summer as a player-coach.
Some may question the wisdom of bringing in a player who turns 36 in a matter of days, but former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp thinks it would be a great move for Celtic.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Redknapp suggested that Gerrard would be a 'colossal signing' for Celtic, as he thinks it would show a huge level of ambition from the Bhoys to land him.
Redknapp also wonders whether Gerrard would want to leave Los Angeles, but thinks that if anybody can tempt him away from Major League Soccer, it's Rodgers, having had such a strong relationship during their time together at Liverpool.
"Going for Gerrard already demonstrates Brendan’s level of ambition," said Redknapp. "That is a truly serious signing bid - what a player. Stevie was a phenomenal midfielder for Liverpool and England. He’s won the Champions League and well over 100 caps for his country. Everyone respects Stevie, he’s a fantastic character and someone of absolute integrity."
"Bringing in Brendan has instantly given Celtic’s profile a massive boost but following that with an amazing name like Steven Gerrard would take it off the scale. He’s now playing for LA Galaxy in the MLS and it will be interesting to see if Brendan can persuade him to turn his back on the lifestyle there and come to Scotland."
"But they had a great relationship at Anfield and Stevie has spoken often enough of his admiration for Brendan, so that could work a trick for Celtic. If anyone can pull off such a move then Brendan can. It would be a colossal signing," he added.
