The former Manchester City boss has been linked with the Everton job.
Manuel Pellegrini looks on from the bench
Manuel Pellegrini would be a very smart appointment for Everton, despite his struggles at Manchester City.
Everton are currently looking for their next manager following the sacking of Roberto Martinez earlier in the campaign.
A number of names have been linked with the position and Pellegrini is among those in the running following his exit from Manchester City.
Indeed, at this moment in time he is the bookmakers’ favourite for the position, having overtaken the likes of Frank de Boer in the running.

Everton fans have reacted with mixed reviews to that news, but the Chilean would actually be a superb appointment for the Blues.
Despite his stint at Manchester City being regarded as something of a disappointment, he still managed three trophies in his three years, one of which was the Premier League in his first season.
Before then he had also enjoyed vast success at several La Liga sides, notably Malaga and Villarreal.
He led both of those sides to the Champions League during his time in charge, with the latter reaching the semi finals back in 2005-06, and Malaga the quarterfinals in 2012-13.

He also led Malaga to a record 58 points in La Liga in his last season, while at Villarreal he secured a second placed finish, their highest ever placing.
Even at Real Madrid he led them to their highest ever points tally at the time, later surpassed by Jose Mourinho, as they missed out on the title.
All of that has been largely forgotten by his detractors, who believe he should have done better at Manchester City.
But given his record at Malaga and Villarreal, if Everton have desires of joining the European elite, then Pellegrini would be a smart appointment this summer.
