Former Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock offered his opinion on the prospective return of David Moyes to Everton on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Thursday morning (broadcast from 6am, May 26).

According to a recent report in The Mirror, Everton are interested in re-hiring Moyes as their manager.

The Scotsman left the Toffees at the end of the 2012-13 season after over a decade at Goodison Park. During his time at the Merseyside outfit, Moyes established them as a Premier League team.

Subsequent managerial spells at Manchester United and Real Sociedad turned out to be disappointing for Moyes, who is without a managerial job at the moment.

Moyes has been linked with the vacant managerial role at Everton, and Warnock has had his say on whether the former Celtic defender should return to his old club.

“I think when you go in as a manager, there’s always a portion of the fans who don’t want you,” said Warnock on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Thursday morning (broadcast from 6am, May 26) when asked if Moyes would be welcomed back by Everton fans. “It’s like when you are managing there, and you are doing well.”

“It’s the thing about the majority of fans, will they like David?” added Warnock. “I think he did a fabulous job.”

Moyes did a truly remarkable job at Everton, and there is no reason why he would not be successful yet again. The Scotsman knows the club inside out, and he would inherit a talented bunch of players.
