Neil Warnock has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 26th May, that Roberto Martinez improved Romelu Lukaku beyond recognition at Everton.

Lukaku was brought to Everton back in 2014, and he developed into one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League.

Lukaku is now hinting that he could be looking for an exit from Goodison Park, after Everton finished this past season in 11th place in the Premier League table.

However, Warnock doesn’t feel that the Belgian international forward would have progressed into such a talented player if it wasn’t for Martinez’s leadership - and he has warned him about moving on.

“You have to be careful what you wish for,” Warnock said. “He might be looking for a move and a contract. But for me Everton have made him what he is.

“He wasn’t playing so good when he first came. Whatever you say about Roberto, he’s [Lukaku’s] improved beyond all recognition.”

Everton's Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku blasted in 25 goals for Everton over the course of this campaign, and at the age of 23 he looks to be the complete forward.

Lukaku has pace, power and a deadly finish - and interest in the forward is rife.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United have already been linked with Lukaku, and the rumours are only set to increase.

Lukaku is in Belgium’s squad for Euro 2016, and he is expected to play a key role at the major international competition.
