Liverpool have made a bid for Lorient defender Raphael Guerreiro, the club’s vice-president has told French paper Ouest.

Alex Hayes has also revealed that German club Borussia Dortmund, formerly managed by current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, have also made an offer.

“No one wants to see Raphael leave, especially the president,” Hayes told French paper Ouest, as translated by The Daily Mail. “He will only be transferred if a club makes an offer that we can't refuse.

“For the moment four major foreign clubs, including Dortmund and Liverpool, have made an offer. The fourth one shouldn't take too long to be made [officially] but for the moment none of them satisfy us. We're calm. We don't need to sell to balance the books.”

Guerreiro has been on the books of Lorient since the summer of 2013 and has a contract until June 2017.

The 22-year-old is a talented young left-back and was in good form for the French club this past season.

The Portugal international defender scored three goals and created 24 chances in 34 Ligue 1 appearances for Lorient during the 2015-16 season.

Guerreiro had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 46%, and won nine headers, 54 dribbles and 36 tackles. Lorient finished 15th in Ligue 1 this past season with 46 points from 38 matches.

From Hayes’s comments, it seems that there is a lot of interest in Guerreiro, and it is hard to see him remain at Lorient for the 2016-17 season.
