Former Everton and Aston Villa striker Andy Gray has told Sport360.com that Tottenham Hotspur will be able to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Until the final weeks of the 2015-16 campaign, Tottenham were in the race for the Premier League title.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side eventually ended up third, a point and a place behind bitter North London rivals Arsenal and 11 points behind eventual champions Leicester City.

Gray believes that Tottenham’s 2015-16 Premier League campaign has been a success, and has backed Spurs to challenge for the league title again next season.

“What was almost achieved was probably far more than was expected and the positives that have come out of the season for Tottenham mean that with just a little bit of tweaking they can again challenge for the title next season,” Gray told Sport360.com. “9.”

Tottenham were one of the best sides to watch in the Premier League this past season. Although the fans will be disappointed with the team’s final results, they should be optimistic about the 2016-17 campaign.

If the North London outfit are able to keep hold of their best players and make maybe two or three signings in the summer transfer window, then they should be able to compete for the Premier League title yet again next season.
