The Poland international scored 22 goals for Ajax this season.
The agent of reported Leicester City target Arkadiusz Milik has confirmed to the Daily Express that the Premier League champions are interested in the striker but says that no official bid has been launched.
Milik scored 21 goals from just 28 starts for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie this season and is thought to have attracted interest from around Europe as a result of his goalscoring exploits.
In all competitions in the last years the Polish international has netted 45 times in just 71 appearances for the Dutch club, and speculation earlier this month linked Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton to the frontman.
However, Leicester appear to be one of the clubs leading the race for his signature as they look to significantly bolster their squad this summer ahead of a first ever involvement in the Champions League next term.
Milik's agent, David Pantak, has confirmed that the Foxes have held long-term interest in the 22-year-old but revealed that no official bid has yet been launched for the striker.
Pantak told the Express: "Leicester has fantastic scouting and they've known of Milik since he was 17 years old. For the last few years I have been in good contact with the decision-makers of Leicester, but there have not been any concrete negotiations recently, especially not an offer sent out to Ajax.
"Milik has got the right ingredients to succeed. Above all he's got the mentality and the ambition, he is a hell of a character and has the right mind set. Paired with his deadly left foot, his heading ability, his scoring instinct, his strength, his technique and his intelligence on and off the pitch, it is important that he is with the right club with the right coach at the right time.
"I am in contact with some clubs, but I do not want to say more at this moment."
If Leicester really are keen on bringing in Milik, they would surely want to get a deal done for the prolific forward before he has more chance to put himself in the shop window with Poland at Euro 2016 next month.
The star has scored 10 goals in 24 caps for his country already, including six in qualifying for this summer's tournament despite playing largely in the shadow of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
