His arrival has been greeted warmly by the Reds faithful, who have grown frustrated with current number one Simon Mignolet during his time at the club.
Indeed, every indication is that Karius will be their number one next season after his arrival, and Hamann agrees, saying it would take something extraordinary for Mignolet to be number one in the first game of next season.
“Karius is clearly very talented, I think he will start the season as Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper,” he told talkSPORT.
“Something could happen, he might not hit the ground running. But I think something extraordinary has to happen in pre-season for Mignolet to keep goal in the first game.”

With Karius now secured, it will be interesting to see where else Jurgen Klopp looks to fix in this Liverpool team.
The goalkeeping position was one that has come in for criticism in recent seasons, but that has now seemingly been resolved.
The defence will now surely be his next priority given how they have struggled to impress, with the left back position in particular needing attention.
Alberto Moreno is the current choice, but he has struggled since his arrival at the club and his display in the Europa League unlikely to convince Klopp he is the man he wants long term.
