According to a report in the Chronicle, Sunderland have made an enquiry about signing Kamil Grosicki from Stade Rennais.
Grosicki is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, and Sunderland believe the winger would enhance their attacking options.
The 27-year-old wide man has impressed in Ligue 1 this past season, where he has shown his class.
And Sunderland are reportedly hopeful of getting a deal over the line soon, as they have already made steps to try and sign Grosicki.
The Black Cats are reportedly trying to find out how much Stade Rennais want for their prized attacker.
Sunderland had great success buying from French clubs during the January transfer window, with Lamine Kone and Wahbi Khazri both joining and making huge impressions.
Sunderland are now on the look out for further bargains, and they feel Grosicki could be a worthwhile addition.
Grosicki made 38 appearances for Stade Rennais this term, scoring on 11 occasions. He also has 36 caps for Poland.
