Harry Kane scored 25 Premier League goals for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane wins the 2015/16 Barclays Golden Boot Award, scoring 25 goals.

Paul Scholes has told the Daily Mail that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane was unlucky to miss out on winning the PFA Player of the Year award.

Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez won the prestigious honour at the end of the past campaign, but Kane was on the six-man shortlist.

And Manchester United legend Scholes felt that Kane deserved to win the award for being the Premier League’s best player.

He said: “Harry Kane was unlucky not to win Player of the Year.

“Jamie Vardy and Mahrez were good but Harry Kane is sensational, he’s a top-class centre forward.”

Mahrez bid to win the PFA award was aided by the fact that Leicester won the Premier League.

Kane’s form was a major reason behind Spurs being able to push the Foxes for the title, though.

Kane has become one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League over the past seasons, and he now plays a key role for both club and country.

Kane netted 25 goals in the Premier League this past season - putting him into an elite group of strikers who have scored over 20 league goals in England’s top flight for two consecutive seasons.

Kane is now expected to play an integral part, as England aim to win Euro 2016 this summer.
