Everton's attempts to secure Sevilla boss Unai Emery have seemingly been handed a blow, with Estadio Deportivo claiming he has told them he is very good at Sevilla.

Everton are currently searching for their next manager after they sacked Roberto Martinez earlier in the season.

A number of names have already been linked with the position, ranging from Ronald Koeman to David Moyes.

Sevilla boss Emery is thought to be among those being considered for the position, having impressed with the work he has managed at the La Liga side.

Indeed, it appears the Blues are stepping up their hunt for a new boss in the coming weeks with reports suggesting they will hold talks with candidates this week.

They could be set for disappointment with Emery though, as Estadio Deportivo claims he told them he is ‘very good at Sevilla’.

In fact, according to them, he is already planning for next season with the Spanish side alongside sporting director Monchi.

It will now be interesting to see if Everton are serious in their interest and will make a move to secure his signature this summer.

They reportedly face a fight to do so, with Italian giants AC Milan also said to be interested in his services.
