Rodgers was confirmed as the new Celtic manager last week.
The former Liverpool manager was confirmed as the new Bhoys manager on Friday, replacing Ronny Deila at the club.
There is already talk of wide scale changes to the playing squad, which has been much maligned during Deila’s two years at the club.
Indeed, it has already been suggested that a move for former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard could be on the cards (as reported by the Belfast Telegraph).
However Rodgers insists that it is not about securing big names, but instead finding players who are willing to fight for the shirt.
“It’s about good players and whether they’re unknown or they’re a name it doesn’t really matter,” he told celticfc.net.
“We want someone who’s going to fit into the culture of the club and fight for the shirt.”
It will certainly be interesting to see who Rodgers looks to bring in to the current Celtic squad this summer.
The club appear determined to back to him with funds to ensure that they can return to the Champions League as soon as possible.
Much is likely to rest on the players that he can sell from his current selection, with many having been deemed not good enough by fans and pundits alike during Deila’s time in charge.
