According to The Mirror, Southampton are plotting a move for Juventus striker Simone Zaza - but face competition from Premier League rivals West Ham United.

The Saints are believed to be concerned about the future of striker Graziano Pelle, with the report claiming that AC Milan, Juventus and Lazio are all keen to lure the Italian international hitman back to Serie A.

With just one year left on his deal, Pelle could be sold this summer, and it's now believed that Ronald Koeman's men are lining up another Italian forward to replace him.

The Mirror claim that Southampton area readying a summer move to sign Juventus striker Simone Zaza, who has been told he can leave the Serie A champions this summer.

The 24-year-old only signed for Juventus from Sassuolo last summer, but having been stuck behind Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata in the Juve pecking order, Zaza is ready to move on and play first-team football.

With eight goals to his name this season despite mostly being a substitute, Zaza is unsurprisingly attracting interest - but Southampton will face major competition for his signature.

It's suggested that West Ham - who are in the market for a new striker this summer - are also keen on Zaza, meaning Juve could see something of a bidding war ensue for a player they don't even want to keep hold of.
