QPR have already made one attempt to sign Bidwell, and although Brentford rejected the first approach, they are braced for the defender’s departure.

QPR are expected to up their offer for the 23-year-old in the coming days, as they look to complete a deal before pre-season starts.

Bidwell has been a key player for Brentford in the past few seasons, and he has made 47 appearances for them this past campaign.

His combative style has caught the eye of Hasselbaink, who would like to add him to QPR’s ranks.

Bidwell would bolster Rangers’ defensive options, following the departures of Gabrielle Angella and Clint Hill.

Brentford, meanwhile, are expected to promote Tom Field from their youth team to their senior squad, and they are also on the look out for a more experienced left-back to cover for the void Bidwell’s expected departure will leave.
