HITC Sport understands Scunthorpe see bid for Blackpool star rebuffed.
Bradley Potts - England U19 in action against Felipe Aspegren - Finland U19
Blackpool have rejected an approach from Scunthorpe for midfielder Bradley Potts, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Potts was one of Blackpool's shining lights in a disappointing campaign that saw them relegated from League One.
A Blackpool fan protest's against chairman Karl Oyston before the match
Potts joined Blackpool on a two-year deal last summer after seeing out his contract at Carlisle with the Seasiders beating a number of clubs to his signature.
Despite being only 21 Potts has made over 150 appearances in his career to date after coming through the ranks at Carlisle United.
Former England Under-19 international Potts scored six goals in 46 appearances for Blackpool this season, including two goals in a man-of-the-match performance against Scunthorpe in January.
Scunthorpe were suitably impressed by Potts when he played against them and they have continued to keep him tabs on him.
Fleetwood Town Manager Graham Alexander
Irons boss Graham Alexander is keen to bolster his squad ahead of next season after narrowly missing out on the League One play-offs and he has identified Potts as one of his top targets.
Blackpool are reluctant to lose Potts and have rejected Scunthorpe's approach for the midfielder, but it remains to be seen if the Glanford Park outfit will return with a new bid for the player.
