The 24-year-old was one of the most impressive players in La Liga this term.
HITC Sport writers have compiled a list of the top 50 players at Euro 2016, assessing players from across the 24 countries taking part at this summer's tournament.
Coming in at number 43 is Atletico Madrid and Spain midfielder Koke, who inspired Atletico to a Champions League final and will be hoping to inspire his country to the final in France.
International record: 22 Caps, 0 Goals
2015/16: While Atletico were unable to keep pace with Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga title race, Diego Simeone's side have proved how dangerous they are by reaching the Champions League final.
Koke was a key reason for their success. Only Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez contributed more assists in the top flight than the 24-year-old, and he will be hoping to replicate that form for the national team.
What can we expect?
Juan Mata and Santi Cazorla being left out of Spain's provisional squad highlights just how strong Vicente del Bosque's squad is in midfield, and so Koke may have a tricky task on his hands trying to hold down a place.
His ability to create chances will be especially useful considering that the four strikers that have been called up have just two international goals between them.
And should the likes of Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas get the nod to start ahead of him, he will undoubtedly be a fantastic option to bring on in the latter stages of games, especially if Spain need a wonderful pass to break a side down.
