The former Liverpool boss was confirmed as the new Celtic manager on Friday, replacing the departing Ronny Deila.
His capture has been considered something of a coup for the Hoops, with them having fought off Premier League interest to secure Rodgers.
Indeed, there has been widespread approval of the appointment, with Celtic fans hoping that Rodgers will prove to be a big success at the club. And Brown has backed him to bring some big-name stars sooner rather than later.
“It’s definitely exciting. The players he will attract himself will be huge,” he told celticfc.net.
“People say we can’t afford the top players now but we have just gone and got a top manager. He knows about the club which will help.”
Player recruitment is likely to be key for Rodgers this summer, as he looks to ensure Celtic are in the Champions League next year.
It already appears as if the club are willing to back him after several years of frugal work in the transfer market have failed to pay dividends for them.
In fact, a number of Celtic's signings in recent years have proved to be poor ones to say the least, and it will be interesting to see how many the former Liverpool manager keeps as he works on the squad.
