Sevilla head coach Unai Emery wants to become the new Everton manager, according to The Sun.
“The 44-year-old, who has led Sevilla to three Europa titles on the trot, has let Everton know he is keen after fellow Spaniard Roberto Martinez was sacked,” states the report in the British tabloid.
The Sun has claimed that Emery was interested in the Newcastle United and the Aston Villa managerial jobs in the summer of 2015, but he was overlooked.
Everton are on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Roberto Martinez earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Sevilla won the Europa League for the third successive season under Emery and will feature in the Champions League during the 2016-17 campaign.
Emery is one of the best football managers in Europe, and it is hard to see him at Everton next season. After all, what can the Spaniard achieve with the Toffees? A top-six finish?
Perhaps it would be best for the former Valencia boss if he remains at Sevilla for one more season at least.
