HITC Sport understands Sheffield United eye new right-back.
Sheffield United are lining up a move for Coventry City defender Aaron Phillips, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Phillips is out of contract at Coventry City this summer and is set to leave the Ricoh Arena after not being handed a new deal.
The 22-year-old, the son of former Wales international Dave Phillips, came through the ranks at Coventry and made over 60 appearances for the Sky Blues.
Phillips made 26 appearances in all competitions last season for Coventry and he impressed at times for Tony Mowbray's side.
News of his availability as a free agent has alerted a number of clubs, but Sheffield United are understood to be at the head of the queue for the attacking full-back's signature.
New Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is keen to revamp his playing squad at Bramall Lane after taking over from Nigel Adkins earlier this month.
Wilder has released 10 players at Sheffield United and placed a further seven on the transfer list as he looks to bring in his own players in a bid to transform the club's fortunes.
Phillips is thought to figure on his wanted list and Wilder is ready offer the defender the chance to move to South Yorkshire.
