Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has suggested in The Daily Mail that Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will be nervous if Jose Mourinho becomes the new manager.
According to BBC Sport, United will sack Dutchman Louis van Gaal and appoint Mourinho as the first-team manager later this week.
“One big question mark over Mourinho is whether he will be in and out in three years - but United fans won't mind at all if he delivers the goods,” Redknapp wrote in The Daily Mail while discussing the impact Mourinho could have at United.
“Yes, Jose will upset people and if you are a young player at Old Trafford such as Marcus Rashford you'll be a little nervous given the manager's poor track record with giving youth a chance.”
Rashford enjoyed a breakthrough season for United during the 2015-16 campaign and could even feature for England at the Euro 2016 finals in France in the summer.
The England Under-20 international would probably have not played first-team football for United this past campaign had there not been injuries, but credit to him for making the most of the opportunities that came his way.
Mourinho is not known for working with youngsters, but perhaps Rashford could impress the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss during pre-season.
