Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has praised Celtic’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond in The Scottish Sun.
Redknapp has revealed what Celtic mean to Desmond, and has predicted exciting times for the club ahead.
“Dermot Desmond is top man for me,” Redknapp told The Scottish Sun. “I like him very much and I know what Celtic means to him — he tells me often enough whenever we see each other.
“If, as it seems, he’s going to have a real go again then it’s going to be incredibly exciting for all Celtic fans. Dermot is a serious businessman and not someone prepared to ever settle for second best.”
Celtic have recently appointed former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as their new first-team manager following the departure of Ronny Deila.
Rodgers is likely to make some very good signings in the summer transfer window in order to make the current squad more competitive.
That will be the main priority for the Northern Irishman, who will be expected to bring Champions League football back to Celtic Park.
With Old Firm rivals Rangers returning to the Scottish top flight next season, it is going to be tougher for the Bhoys, but at the same time they should relish the new competition they will face.
