Sunderland fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to urge the club to re-sign DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham Hotspur.
Yedlin played on loan for Sunderland from Premier League rivals Tottenham during the 2015-16 campaign.
The USA international defender did not exactly have a great time at the Stadium of Light, but his performances, especially under manager Sam Allardyce, were very encouraging.
The 22-year-old right-back, who can also play as a wide midfielder, created 12 chances in 23 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats.
The former Seattle Sounders FC man had a pass accuracy of 68% and a shot accuracy of 25%, and won 24 headers, 22 dribbles and 29 tackles.
Yedlin played his part in helping Sunderland avoid relegation to the Championship.
According to a recent report in The Northern Echo, Tottenham are willing to sell Yedlin to Sunderland in the summer transfer window, with the Black Cats ready to bid around £2m for the defender.
Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to sign Yedlin in the summer.
