Report: Liverpool keen on Leicester City star Danny Drinkwater for £14m

Liverpool are keen on the midfielder after his star performances for Leicester City this past season.

Liverpool are keen on a move for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, with a £14million price being mooted, reports the Mirror.

The England man played a key part for Leicester this past season, forming a formidable partnership with N’Golo Kante in their Premier League title winning campaign.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Roy Hodgson naming him in his 26-man provisional squad for Euro 2016.

And it seems he is not the only one to have been impressed either, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp another keen admirer.

According to the Mirror, Klopp has had his analysis team at Liverpool compile stats on the 26-year-old, and they have made him a major target.

Naturally, Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri will resist any offers for one of his key men as he looks to keep hold of the squad that won him the title.

He has the added bonus of being able to offer Champions League football, while Liverpool cannot offer any European football at all next season.

Drinkwater though is looking towards the future and could be tempted by a move to a so-called big name club should the offer be tempting enough.
