The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is edging closer to a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal will pay around £30million to sign Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, reports Sky Sports.

Arsenal have been long linked with a move for the Swiss midfielder as they look to add to their squad this summer.

A deal appeared to be edging closer this week, as he was pictured in a full Arsenal strip in leaked images.

However, Sky Sports report that those photos were simply taken early to allow him to join up with his national side and do not mean a deal is complete.

Instead, he has only completed the first part of his medical, and will undergo the rest of it when he meets up with the Swiss national team at Euro 2016.

As far as they are concerned, the deal will cost the Gunners around £30million, and could even be completed before this summer’s tournament in France.

The midfielder will be the first signing for Arsenal this summer, with many anticipating that a busy few months could be on the cards.

At £30million he will be an expensive capture, and it will be interesting to see how much more money Arsenal are willing to spend to further improve their squad.
