Leicester City are reportedly making a move for Guangzhou Evergrande star Zhang Linpeng.

According to The Sun, Leicester City will make a £10m bid to sign Guangzhou Evergrande defender Zhang Linpeng this summer - and he's keen on the move.

The Foxes are preparing for next season's Champions League, and will need to strengthen their squad in order to compete with Europe's elite.

It will be fascinating to see just how Leicester plan to improve their squad, and the Thai-owned Foxes could be making a move to sign one of Asia's star players.

The Sun report that Leicester are planning to offer £10m for Guangzhou Evergrande defender Zhang Linpeng, who is the star of the Chinese national team.

Linpeng, who can play at right back or centre back, has remarkably earned comparisons to Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos, both for his playing style and aesthetically.

The 27-year-old defender has been touted for a move to the Premier League for some time now, and having impressed with Luiz Felipe Scolari's Guangzhou Evergrande side.

Now, with Leicester looking to grow their brand in Asia, it's believed that the Foxes are planning to bid £10m to land Linpeng and boost their squad, where he would become the first Chinese player to play in the top flight since Sun Jihai.

In fact, Linpeng has been quoted by The Sun as saying that he would love to play for a club like Leicester, and is willing to listen to an offer from Claudio Ranieri's men.

"I’d love to play in the Premier League for such a prestigious club," said Linpeng. "I’ve had recognition from Chelsea, which was a proud moment for me, and of course I’d listen to a proposal from the champions," he added.
