Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in signing Efe Ambrose from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday Post.
Ambrose has been on the books of Celtic since 2012 and has a contract until June 2017.
It has been reported that Fenerbahce want to sign the Nigeria international, who can play as a right-back or as a centre-back, but the 27-year-old will have to wait to find out if he is part of new manager Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic clear-out.
Fenerbahce finished second in theTurkish Super Lig this past season and could feature in the Champions League during the 2016-17 campaign.
The Istanbul-based outfit have qualified for the third qualifying round of Europe’s premier club competition.
Ambrose is an experienced defender, but his performances have been disappointing this past campaign and there have been too many mistakes.
Perhaps it is time for Celtic to sell the former Ashdod player, especially if another club are ready to sign him.
