Former Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City boss Ian Holloway suggested on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, May 20) that Frank de Boer is not the right manager for Everton.
“I am not sure, I am really not sure,” said Holloway when asked about De Boer being the right fit for Everton. “Everybody keeps talking him up, he has had a really good career."
Everton are looking for a new manager following the departure of Roberto Martinez earlier this month.
According to The Daily Mail, former Ajax boss De Boer is a candidate to succeed Martinez at Goodison Park.
The 46-year-old Dutchman recently left his managerial role at Eredivisie club Ajax after winning the league title four times.
The former Barcelona star is a good football manager, but he will find it hard at Everton, especially if the Toffees sell some of their best players in the summer transfer window.
However, De Boer has a strong footballing philosophy, and if given time, he could be a huge success at Goodison Park.
Everton endured a disappointing 2015-16 Premier League campaign and finished outside the top 10.
