David Gold says that West Ham United want to win the Europa League next season.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has revealed on social networking site Twitter that his side will aim to win the Europa League next season.

The Hammers have a chance of playing in the group stage of the prestigious European competition during the 2016-17 campaign.

The London outfit will enter the competition at the third round qualifying stage, thanks to Manchester United’s victory over Crystal Palace in the final of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Gold has made it clear on Twitter that West Ham will take the Europa League seriously, and that they are aiming to win the competition.

West Ham fans must be encouraged with Gold’s comment, as it suggests that the club are serious about achieving success next season.

The Hammers will play at the Olympic Stadium from the 2016-17 campaign, and they will certainly want to make the most of it.

It is too early to claim that the London outfit will be able to go all the way in the Europa League next season, but it seems that the determination and intent is there.
