Report: Arsenal's Theo Walcott wants Emirates stay amid interest from Premier League duo

Theo Walcott

Arsenal’s Theo Walcott has been linked with West Ham United and Leicester City.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal’s Theo Walcott wants to remain at the Emirates Stadium beyond this summer amid interest from West Ham United and Leicester City.

The report claims that Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has joined the Hammers in wanting the out-of-favour Walcott this summer, but the England international remains intent on staying in North London.

Walcott has struggled for first-team opportunities this past season, making just 15 Premier League starts as he has had to battle with injury and fellow strikers Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck for a starting spot.

The 27-year-old arrived at Arsenal from Southampton as a renowned wonderkid, but his progress has been slow and ultimately hasn’t reached the heights many supporters expected.

The Gunners have often suffered from a lack of prolificacy, and while a solid goal scorer on his day, Walcott is one of the reasons why many supporters want Arsene Wenger to bring in a new world class striker.

It appears his future at the club is very much in question, and the Daily Star report how West Ham are keen to sign him with a £20 million deal said to be on the cards.

Leicester are in the market for new players after they secured the title and Champions League qualification, but they and Slaven Bilic’s men may have to look elsewhere in their bid for a pacey forward.
