Tottenham fans reply to Ryan Mason on Twitter, show support

Tottenham Hotspur Action

Ryan Mason has been linked with a Tottenham exit.

In 2014/15 Ryan Mason was one of Tottenham Hotspur's breakthrough stars, 12 months on he is a forgotten figure who could be heading for an exit.

Mason was even capped by England in his previous campaign, but this past season he has not even been in the discussion for an international cap.

The midfielder started the season with an injury and never got a regular run in the first team. When he did feature, he appeared a noticeable level below first choice stars Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele.

This has led to questions over Mason's future, with the Evening Standard reporting he is a £6m transfer target for Bournemouth.

A move may be Mason's best bet for regular football, but this may also depend on Tottenham's own incoming transfer this summer.

Mason was poor in their final game of the season against Newcastle, by far from being the only one, but it did not help his cause to win over those who doubt him.

The midfielder sent a message on Twitter on Friday expressing his desire to bounce back next season.

Mason's message prompted some fans who want him out to express messages urging him to quit the club, but there were a good number showing their support and urging him to stay.

With the direction regarding Mason pointing that he could be on his way out, he will have been glad to see he still has his backers, and well he should after just one disappointing campaign.

Mason is a player who deserves another chance. He may not be first choice away but there are sentiments that he should get the chance to come back stronger and fight for his place.

Here is a look at the messages of support backing Mason and urging him to stick around...
