Sky Sports pundit makes a prediction about Southampton, has advice regarding Ronald Koeman

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has been linked with the Everton managerial job.

Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports that he does not think that Southampton will sell their best players in the summer transfer window.

In recent years, the Saints have sold their best players to Premier League rivals, such as Adam Lallana to Liverpool and Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United.

Southampton legend Le Tissier believes that the club will not do something similar this summer.

The former England international attacking midfielder, though, has urged Southampton to tie down manager Ronald Koeman to a new contract.

Koeman has been linked with managerial job at Everton, with The Mirror recently reporting that the Merseyside outfit are looking at the Dutchman as a replacement for the departed Roberto Martinez.

“It's been a very good season,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports. “Ronald Koeman has done a terrific job and one of the biggest things this summer is tying him down to a new contract.

"We've previously expected the best players to leave but I don't get that feeling this time, so hopefully we can keep hold of them and have a crack at the top four next season."

Southampton have had a brilliant 2015-16 Premier League campaign and finished as high as sixth in the table.

The Saints have qualified for next season’s Europa League, and this is a huge success for Koeman and his players.

For Southampton to compete for the top six regularly and perhaps even to break into the top four, they need to build on this past season’s success.
