The former Liverpool captain left last year to join LA Galaxy.
Gerrard left Liverpool last summer after agreeing a move to MLS side La Galaxy when it appeared his Reds contract would not be renewed by then manager Brendan Rodgers.
It was not an ideal first year in Los Angeles though, as Seattle Sounders FC knocked his side out of the MLS Playoffs.
Indeed, Gerrard has indicated he may be willing to retire this year after finding the long journeys in American more difficult than he anticipated.
And it seems that a return to Anfield could be on the cards, with the Mirror reporting that he has already been offered a coaching role at the club.
The same report also indicates that the former England captain is also unsettled in America, further heightening to the idea that a return could be on the cards.
It would certainly be a sensible one, with Anfield likely to prove a comfortable place to learn his trade, especially with a bright future anticipated under Jurgen Klopp’s leadership.
