Report: Newcastle among host of clubs interested in Cheikh N’Doye

Newcastle United, West Ham United, Aston Villa and Swansea City are reportedly interested in signing AngersCheikh N’Doye in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United are interested in signing Cheikh N’Doye from Angers in the summer transfer window, according to French publication L’Equipe, as reported by The Chronicle.

It has been reported that Newcastle are among a host of clubs interested in securing the services of the 30-year-old midfielder.

Premier League duo West Ham United and Swansea City reportedly want the Senegal international, and so do Aston Villa, who were relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2015-16 campaign along with Newcastle and Norwich City.

Back in February of this year, L’Equipe reported of Everton and Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in N’Doye (click here here to read more).

N’Doye has been on the books of Angers since 2015 and has a contract until June 2017.

The midfielder was in good form this past season and was a key player iin Angers’ successful Ligue 1 campaign.

Stephane Moulin’s side finished as high as ninth in the table, above the likes of Bordeaux, Montpellier and Marseille.

N’Doye scored nine goals and created 24 chances in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Angers this past season.

The Senegal international midfielder had a pass accuracy of 66% and a shot accuracy of 31%, and won 207 headers, 18 dribbles and 46 tackles.
