PEC Zwolle director insists he has not yet spoken to Nottingham Forest regarding Lars Veldwijk transfer

The Dutchman spent last season on loan at the Eredivisie club.

PEC Zwolle director Gerard Nijkamp has once again opened up on the chances of signing Nottingham Forest striker Lars Veldwijk.

Speaking to Voetbal International he made it clear that there have been no talks with Forest about signing the player and that he would not be talking about the issue anymore:

"That Veldwijk next year no longer plays for PEC, I cannot say.

“We currently have no contact with Nottingham Forest. For weeks not, by the way.

“Going forward, I will not be going into detail about that."

Veldwijk had a good season in Dutch football with Zwolle. He scored 14 goals in 35 appearances for the club which has caught the eye of other Eredivisie sides.

Just yesterday a report from FeanOnline suggested that Heerenveen were also keen on signing the player. Impressed by his performances in the Eredivisie the club are hoping to beat Zwolle to his signature and have the financial edge.

Veldwijk could of course still have a future at Forest. He was allowed to leave the club by Dougie Freedman nut with Forest currently looking for a new manager the newbie might decide to keep hold of Veldwijk – who failed to score in his debut season with the club.

The former Excelsior striker is still contracted to Forest until next summer and perhaps he can come good at the City Ground.
