Everton fans react on Twitter to Alan Stubbs’ Scottish Cup win at Hibernian

Hibernian beat Rangers in the Scottish FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon.

Everton fans have reacted on social networking site Twitter after Alan Stubbs won the Scottish Cup with Hibernian.

Hibernian won a scintillating Scottish Cup final on Saturday afternoon as they managed to overcome Rangers.

They came back from 2-1 down, having led the game 1-0 early on, with a late header from captain David Gray securing the victory.

It was their first Scottish Cup success in 114 years; since they beat Celtic in the final all the way back in 1902.

It was also Alan Stubbs’ first trophy as a manager, and Everton fans were keen to offer their praise to their former star on Twitter.

Unfortunately for Hibs, their success will be tinged with regret as a result of the scenes that followed the game.

Their fans rushed onto the pitch to celebrate the victory, with ugly scenes showing some clashing with Rangers fans.

Indeed, such were the scenes that Mark Warburton’s side did not appear after the game to receive their runners up medals.

As a result, the Scottish FA will surely heavily charge them and that will be a disappointing end to such a fine success for them.
