Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was also named in the squad.
La Liga side Sevilla won this year’s tournament once again, as they saw off Liverpool in the final in Basel.
It was the third year in a row they have won the competition in what proved to be a comfortable win over Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Indeed, it was a disappointing end for the Reds after an impressive run to the final saw them beat Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.
Tottenham didn’t fare as well as the Merseysiders, as Borussia Dortmund comfortably knocked them out of the tournament in the last 16 stage.
Nonetheless, it seems UEFA were impressed with one of their stars, as defender Toby Alderweireld made it into their squad of the tournament.
It is the second team of the year the Belgian managed to make it into, having been named in the PFA Team of the Year this season also.
Liverpool fared a little better, as they got two stars into the selection, with midfield duo Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho both selected.
Manchester United’s David de Gea also managed to sneak in, despite only making two appearances in the competition.
