Hibernian have won the Scottish Cup final today with an incredible 3-2 win over Scottish Championship winners Rangers.
Hibs scored in the final minute through captain David Gray to earn a historic victory at Hampden Park.
But as far as Celtic fans are concerned it was Anthony Stokes who was the hero.
The Irishman is on loan at Hibs from Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic and was in great form as the Edinburgh club secured victory.
He netted the opening goal of the game and then went on to score the equaliser for 2-2 as Hibs saw off Rangers.
Stokes had fallen foul of former Celtic manager Ronny Deila throughout the 2015-16 and after links with plenty of teams he ended up joining Hibs on loan back in January. He has struggled for consistency since arriving at Easter Road but this performance will no doubt go down as his best for the club since his return on loan.
His future at Celtic remains up in the air, but as long as he keeps scoring goals against Rangers wherever he is then Bhoys fans will be cheering him on…
Scoring 2 goals today or not I still don't want Stokes back at Celtic.— Adam Baxter (@BornHeel) May 21, 2016
So frustrating to see Stokes play at such a high level today. Class apart from any player on the pitch. Can still be a big player at Celtic.— chriscoll10 (@chriscoll10) May 21, 2016

If stokes shows the effort & attitude he has today for next season he could well still have a part to play at paradise next season.— Shottsbhoy (@Shotts_bhoy) May 21, 2016
