Celtic are reportedly planning to unveil Brendan Rodgers as their new manager early next week.
According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are planning to announce Brendan Rodgers as their new manager early next week, with either Monday or Tuesday in mind.
The Bhoys have been searching for a new manager, after announcing last month that current boss Ronny Deila won't be in charge next season following a disappointing campaign outside of the Scottish Premiership.
Deila's replacement needs to bring European success back to Celtic Park, and a host of big names have been heavily linked with the job in recent weeks.
Now though, the Daily Mail report that Celtic are edging towards the appointment of Brendan Rodgers, and plan to unveil him as their new manager by Tuesday.
Rodgers, 43, has been out of work since October having lost his job as Liverpool boss, and has been widely expected to return to management this summer.
Now, the boyhood Celtic fan is closing in on his dream job, as the Daily Mail claim that despite talks with David Moyes, Malky Mackay, Roy Keane and Neil Lennon, shareholder Dermot Desmond has asked Rodgers to not only take Celtic back to European success, but also fend off rivals Rangers next season.
It's claimed that Celtic plan to announce the Northern Irishman as their new manager by Tuesday at the latest, and he appears to have a huge transfer budget at his disposal.
The report suggests that Rodgers will be given £15m to spend on revamping the Celtic squad this summer, with the former Swansea and Watford boss being heavily backed in the transfer market already, though a contract hasn't yet been signed - meaning Bhoys fans have to hope nothing goes wrong in the coming days.
