According to The Sun, Arsenal are willing to smash their wage structure for Alvaro Morata.
The Gunners have long been linked with a move for the former Real Madrid man, and his improvement in Turin has only made Wenger even more desperate to land him this summer.
Morata’s future at Juventus is in the balance largely due to Madrid holding a buyback clause in his contract, and it appears that the La Liga club may choose to activate this if only to sell him again to make a profit.
The Sun claims that Madrid will be looking to hold out for as much as £40 million, although this figure won’t put Arsenal off as new Premier League finances will allow for their budget to be stretched.
Arsenal are reported to be willing to offer Morata a five-year deal worth £155,000-per-week, topping Mesut Ozil’s current salary of £140,000-per-week who remains the club’s highest earner.
