Leeds confirm departure of first-team duo

Mirco Antenucci and Scott Wootton will leave Leeds United in the summer.

Leeds United have revealed on their official website that both Mirco Antenucci and Scott Wootton will leave the club in the summer.

Striker Antenucci and defender Wootton are out of contract at the end of next month, and neither will be offered new deals.

Eric Grimes, Ross Killock, Tom Lyman, Robbie McDaid, Jake Skelton and Lewis Walters have also been released by the West Yorkshire outfit.

Leeds have also revealed that Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Tyler Denton and Eoghan Stokes are among the players who have been offered new contracts.

Italian striker Antenucci scored nine goals and created 24 chances in the league for the West Yorkshire outfit this past season.

Defender Wootton created 11 chances in 22 Championship appearances for the Whites during the 2015-16 campaign.

The 24-year-old defender had a pass accuracy of 68% and a shot accuracy of 67%, and won 24 headers, two dribbles and 22 tackles.

Leeds finished 13th in the Championship table this past season with 59 points from 46 matches.
