Arsenal endured a disappointing campaign as they failed to challenge for the Premier League title.
They started the season strongly and led the table at the beginning of 2016, but a poor year saw them fall far behind Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the title race.
However, a surprising end to the season saw Spurs capitulate and Arsenal finish above them on the table on the final day.
They eventually ended up finishing second in the table, and Seaman says that position was a great achievement for his old side.
"Arsenal had a good season,” he told talkSPORT.
“It wasn't brilliant because we didn't win anything, but to finish second is a great achievement,"
The problem for Arsenal is that Seaman is one of few who believe that second place constitutes as a great season for the Gunners.
Indeed, many believe the exact opposite and class this past season as a failure for them given their main rivals for the title all struggled for their best form.
Another second placed finish would arguably not be accepted again next season, with many believing that they need to be seriously competing to decrease the dissent currently at the club.
