Liverpool took on Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening as they sought to add another European triumph to their collection.
It started well for them too, as a fine goal from striker individual goal from Daniel Sturridge saw them leading at half time.
However, the La Liga side came back strongly in the second half, scoring 17 seconds into the second half and going on to add two more to secure a 3-1 win.
It was a highly disappointing evening for the Reds, with many left questioning how they had struggled so badly after such a strong first half showing.
And Mignolet says their manager told them after the game that it is an experience they can learn from.
"Straight after the game he called the lads together and said 'especially the second half, we can learn from these things'," he told Liverpoolfc.com.
"You're looking for the answers, but you can't really find it at this moment in time. The thing is that we have to learn from this and get stronger for it.”
Klopp will now turn his focus on the summer transfer window and improving his side ahead of next season.
The Reds are expected to be busy this summer, as the German moulds the squad to better suit his needs.
And after their showing in the Europa League final, he is sure to be eyeing several signings to try and ensure success in future.
