The Foxes are said to be keen on the Pescara striker.
As reported by Goal.com earlier in the week the player himself has spoken of a desire to link up with Claudio Ranieri and Jamie Vardy at Leicester – with Ranieri himself admitting that he is interested in bringing the player to the King Power Stadium.
Reports in Italy however suggest that Leicester’s title-winning celebrations might just be getting in the way of business slightly.
TuttoMercatoWeb relayed information yesterday that Napoli were in talks with Pescara ahead of potentially signing the player. The fee is rumoured to be in the region of €8 million (£6.1 million) with €2 million (£1.5 million) in bonuses.
Napoli are fearful of losing striker Gonzalo Higuain and clearly see Lapadula as the perfect replacement.
The report stated that Leicester have not yet made any official bid to buy the player, with Juventus also keen on his services.
It is easy to see why the Serie B striker is so sought after. The mercurial front-man, who can play for Italy or Peru, has scored 26 goals in 39 league appearances this season.
Leicester might want to move fast or risk missing out on the talented striker.
